Cover Reveal– ONLY MARRIAGE WILL DO by Jenna Jaxon, a new historical romance from @KensingtonBooks @lyricalpress

Marriage 2 (1)

Only Marriage Will Do

by

Jenna Jaxon

Blurb:

Not every happy-ever-after begins at “I do.”

When the hero of her dreams rescues Lady Juliet Ferrers from the man claiming to be her husband, she is sure she has found her one true love.  But is she free to marry him?  Not to be deterred, Juliet arranges for her hero, Captain Amiable Dawson, to escort her to her family estate, hoping that along the way she can win his love.

Amiable is charmed by the sweet, beautiful woman he rescued, and although he has grave reservations about her marital status, he allows himself to be swept up into Juliet’s romantic spell and the promise of a happy-ever-after.

The spell breaks when legal questions arise and Juliet faces the horror of not knowing if she is married to her knight in shining armor or the cruel viscount who is determined to have her at any price.

Excerpt:

London July 2, 1761

The brass lion-head knocker under Amiable Dawson’s hand sent a sharp rap through the dark walnut door of Dunham House for the second time. The hot July sun hadn’t done his temper any good as he waited on the marble stoop for entrance to the Marquess of Dalbury’s townhouse. He’d been in a foul mood ever since the news of his beloved Katarina’s marriage to the marquess had reached him. Blast it to hell, he was supposed to have married the girl. At least he could make sure she was well and well taken care of by this man she had married.

At last a short, dark-haired maid opened the door. She took one look at him, gasped, and stepped back into the house. Her eyes widened and she glanced to her right, wringing her hands. “Who may I say—”

A man shouted from within. “No, I do not believe you.”

“It is true, I tell you!” A woman’s voice, raised and sharp with terror, sent a chill through Amiable.

Katarina. What in God’s name?

He barged past the stunned girl and strode down the hall toward the commotion. He burst through the doorway, expecting to defend the woman he loved, only to stop dead at the sight of a man lunging across a sofa and grasping a woman by the wrist. Amiable had half drawn his sword before he realized the woman was not Katarina, but a complete stranger. He dropped it back into its scabbard. This was none of his affair.

The young man, foppishly dressed in a robin’s egg blue satin coat dripping too many layers of frothy lace at throat and wrists looked at Amiable, a snarl on his lips.

Taking advantage of the distraction, the woman wrenched her arm from the man’s grip. “Praise God. Here he is.” She staggered as she righted herself. “Now you will have to believe me, Philippe.”

The fop scrambled back off the sofa and groped for a black lacquer walking stick that lay on the floor. Lips pressed together, he glowered at the woman. “That remains to be seen, ma chere. In any case, I have shown you the papers. They speak for themselves.”

The woman ran from behind the sofa to Amiable’s side, grazed a kiss over his cheek and whispered, “For God’s sake, help me. I am alone here and he is trying to take me away. Please, agree with whatever I say.”

Smiling into her pleading face, he grasped her hands and gave them a gentle squeeze to signal his acquiescence. “Whatever is the matter, my dear?” Hell if he knew. But he could play his part, even with little information. Let the lady lead and he’d follow as well as he could.

The woman smiled then took a deep breath. “My dear, may I present Viscount St. Cyr?” She nodded toward the fop. “Philippe, this is my husband, the Earl of Manning.”

Guest Blog featuring Daisy Banks and her new book TO ETERNITY

Thank you so much for hosting me, Sara, and helping me celebrate the release of my new book To Eternity, the second book in the Timeless series.

I hope those of you who enjoyed meeting Magnus and Sian in Timeless will enjoy this next step in their story.  I hope those of you meeting them for the first time in To Eternity will want to find out about their past in Timeless.

I am presently in the process of writing Out of Time, Book Three in the series and hope to have it completed this year.

One of the elements I enjoyed writing most in To Eternity was the development of the relationship between Magnus and Sian. As the story unfolded they moved forward as a couple, learning from each other and dealing with the difficulties their specific relationship must cope with. I mean, let’s face it, falling in love with a guy who is several hundred years old can’t possibly be easy and the fact he’s a werewolf too doesn’t make for a simple situation. I have always enjoyed Sian’s courage and she didn’t let me down in To Eternity. I’ve picked a little excerpt to illustrate.

I do hope you enjoy this.

A man in a set of old-fashioned green overalls, carrying a steaming bucket and a broom, headed toward the path down to the lake. That was Monty. She’d best let security know he belonged on the estate. The photographers, too, just in case they need a few extra shots.

Oh, my God. Magnus knew! He must have contacted Monty to clean up. That’s what had upset Magnus so much this morning. He knew Franklyn had been here and what he’d done. Oh, why hadn’t he said?

She called the guard from her phone. “It’s okay. I know the old boy down by the lake. He’s one of Mr. Johansson’s people.” She could hardly call Monty a servant. “He’s been sent down there by Mr. Johansson.”

“We’ve checked everyone, Ms. Armstrong, everyone is accounted for,” the guard said.

“Excellent. By my estimation, the crew will be ready to leave by one, the band before then. I want them all checked out as they leave the grounds. You call me when the kit and props are loaded onto the wagon because I want to personally see everyone is off-site.”

“Yes, Ms. Armstrong.”

In the meantime, she’d inspect the rooms used yesterday for even a nick in the paintwork, and try to work out a way to explain to Magnus what had happened. Only once she’d done that, would she contact Franklyn.

The haunting first chords of her favorite song from the Timeless album met her as she entered the long corridor to go along to the music room. For some crazy reason, tears stung her eyes. The strength of love to last eons, to right all manner of wrongs, and most of all, to protect the one you cared for.

She nodded at the last sobbing note of the guitar. The certainty grew. She’d give anything to protect Magnus from his fears, as well as the nuisance Franklyn made of himself.

All she had to do was hold it together and be strong. Somehow she would do it.

Thanks for reading.

Xx

To Eternity-wild beneath the moon- Book Two in the Timeless Series.

Excerpt:

Dylan regarded her for a long moment and cocked a brow. Damn, was he making fun of her? He looked her up and down. “Wouldn’t a woman like you be more comfortable getting manicures and massages in a Dallas spa, not worrying about cattle breeds and barn roofs? It’s no secret around town you’re the heiress to the Monroe Farm Equipment fortune, and you sold a huge ranch in Oklahoma your grandfather left you. Why on Earth did you buy a dump like this?”

Now he’d pissed her off. Charli might have more money than she’d ever dreamed of having. She might like to dress in designer clothes, but it was none of this jerk’s business which ranch she bought. Or why she wanted it. She had a business plan and a vision for the ranch; what else mattered? “I happen to like this place. It suits me better than the ranch I sold.”

“Is that so? Did you bring any equipment with you? A tractor, a planter, hay mower, baler, anything?”

He would bring up one of the stupidest things she’d done. Sighing, she admitted, “I sold the equipment with the ranch when I decided to leave Oklahoma. One more reason I need a manager.” Her cheeks burned. “When I sold the ranch after inheriting it, I didn’t intend to buy another.”

“Why did you buy another ranch?” He slid his gaze back to hers and peered at her as if he could read her every thought–but what had her swallowing hard was the spark of something hot in his eyes.

She tightened her arms in the hug she gave herself–a self-protecting, insecure gesture she’d acquired while she lived with her abusive lover in Las Vegas as a teenage runaway.

“Buying a ranch the size of this one isn’t something most folks just wake up and decide to do, Miss Monroe. A ten-thousand-acre spread takes commitment and dedication and is damned hard work.”

Yeah, she knew that.

He looked down at her multicolored Manolo Blahnik five-inch heeled slides. The ghost of a smile touched his lips again, but this time little crinkles formed at the corners of his eyes, which held a spark of interest she didn’t want.

Damn, he was good-looking. She squelched that notion like the roach she’d killed earlier in the house. Hadn’t her life with Ricardo taught her a handsome face meant nothing but trouble?

“I can’t imagine you stuffing those pampered and polished feet into rubber boots to muck around in the barn.”

Me, either. But she would if she had to.

She drew in a breath and dropped her arms to her sides. “I think we should get back to asking questions about you. When your sister called about my newspaper ad, she said you were exactly what I’m looking for.”

He shrugged again in a not-a-care-in-the-world way again. What was this guy’s problem? If she weren’t running out of time, she would tell him to leave. She couldn’t waste this year, which meant she had to get someone hired. And her prospects were limited.

“Can you do the job?”

“Affirmative.”

She waited for him to elaborate, but when he didn’t, she frowned. “Do you have any references?”

“I expected you to ask. Everything you need to know should be in here.”

She moved closer and took the folded sheet of paper he held out the window. After glancing at it, she wasn’t surprised it was a resume, but his listed experience had her heart beating a little faster. She looked up at him. “You have a degree in agricultural business from Texas A & M, started up your own ranch and served in the Army?”

He looked off in the distance. “I was in the service for thirteen years, three years in the Corps of Engineers, four in Airborne and the last six in Special Forces.” His jaw clenched, making his face the chiseled block of cold stone again. “And I know something about building. When I wasn’t deployed, I built the house and barn on my two-hundred acre ranch.”

“You don’t own the ranch now?”

“No. My ex-wife got it in our divorce settlement. I planned to get out of the Army after my last tour in Afghanistan and raise cattle. But things never happen the way we want them to.”

The bitterness of his tone had her stepping away. She shivered again and busied herself with looking at the resume. Whatever his ex-wife had done to him, it wasn’t good. “Your reference list is pretty skimpy.”

“The first name is my old commander, but I just got word he’s shipped out on a secret mission.”

Something wasn’t adding up. Either he was hiding something or his sister had lied about his experience. “Your sister said you worked on Oak Springs Ranch while in high school, but it’s not listed on your resume. Are you related to the owner, Leon Ferguson? You said your mother grew up there.”

His eyes narrowed and his lips thinned into a tight line. “Leon is my mother’s stepbrother. While my grandfather was still alive and ran the ranch, I worked there until I joined the Army after he died. I chose not to mention it.”

But why? She didn’t press the matter. She wasn’t seriously considering him for the job anyway, was she?

She studied the resume again. “Brenda Dailey. Is this person off-limits, too? Or can I speak with her?”

“My ex-wife. I’d appreciate it if you don’t involve her. I put her on there because of the ranch.”

She looked up at him. “The divorce that bad, huh?”

Dylan shrugged and looked away. He gripped the top of the steering wheel hard enough to whiten his knuckles. “Suppose it’s no secret. Our divorce has only been final four months, and she married her baby-daddy the day after it became official. You figure it out.”

“Ouch. Okay, I won’t call your ex. Nevertheless, I’d like to see your house. Your sister mentioned you were a carpenter.” She glanced at the address of his former ranch. “Killeen’s south of here?”

He nodded. “It’s your two hours and tank of gas.”

“Thank you for stopping by. Your number’s on here. I’ll call you.”

“Thanks for your time, Miss Monroe. Good luck with this place.” He looked around at the buildings and over her before he turned the key in the ignition. The rusted bucket of bolts sputtered and the starter groaned before the engine turned over.

As he pulled away, she looked at the piece of paper in her shaky hand and studied his name at the top.

Damn, she’d hoped he was the one.

She crumpled the paper, and the memory of his weathered eyes, as dull and gray as her ranch buildings, came to her. What ghosts did he see when he closed them?

She opened her palm and stared at the wad of paper. Feeling haunted by the past was something she understood very well.

Interview with Gemma Brocato author of EXPOSED TO PASSION

Hi Sara. Thanks for having on your blog today to talk about my new release, Exposed To Passion.

Wecome, Gemma!!!  Let’s start by you telling us a little about yourself.

I’ve been writing steadily since 2011, and contracted my first novel with Lyrical Press in 2013. I submitted the second a month later, then the third in Feb 2014. It’s been an exciting ride, with a very steep uphill learning curve. I’ve met so many wonderfully helpful people along the way it makes me believe my chosen career isn’t as solitary as it seems.

What genre/genres do you write?

I write contemporary romance, but I’m about to dip my toe into the sci-fi romance genre. I have a Christmas novella set in the 23rd century that I’m cleaning up with the intention of self-publishing in December.

Whatever became of your very first book?

Good question. I’m cleaning it up to get it ready to submit to my editor at Lyrical. I wrote the story while suffering a huge bout of homesickness and missing my teenage children after my husband’s job made a move to England. Kids wanted to stay home, and I pounded the story out on a company issued computer to ease the loneliness.

What can you tell us about Exposed To Passion that isn’t in the blurb or excerpt?

The theme of Exposed deals with what happens when someone is faced with a bully. Not only did I have a secondary character, Katie, who is bullied in the halls of the school Sam Kerrigan teaches at, but Sam and Rikki face bullying from a grown woman. The scene detailing and incident where Katie is bullied came from a real life situation I witnessed.

Is Exposed To Passion part of a series? If so, tell us about it.

Yes, Exposed is book #3 in the Five Senses Series, based on the Kerrigan family of a fictional town, Granite Pointe, Massachusetts. Each book is based on one of the senses. The heroine has a job which relies on the sense connected to the book. In this book, Rikki Salerno is a photographer, which of course, requires sight. Book #1, Cooking Up Love, about a chef, is based on taste, and book #2, Hearts In Harmony, about a music therapist, on hearing. I’m currently working book #4, which is based on smell, and features a heroine who owns a flower shop.

How long did it take you to write?

Each novel takes about three and a half to four months to complete. Then the hard part, editing begins.

Who was easier to write–Hero or Heroine? Why?

I have to confess the hero, Sam, was easier to write. I’ve been in love with him since he first walked on to the page. He’s a kind, sweet man who is a steadfast friend, and hot, hot, hot.

Now for some Fun Questions…

What’s your favorite TV show or movie of all time?

French Kiss, with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline. Probably because whenever I’m watching it, my husband will sit down to watch it with me. It’s become a Valentine’s tradition for us.

If you could chose a period in history to be born in, what would it be and why?

I’d probably say the 1920s. Great music, great art and literature, and women were finally gaining independence.

What was the most embarrassing thing your husband/boyfriend/partner/friend ever did to you in public?

Hmmm, well, he’s pretty quick to point out when I’ve embarrassed him, usually in front of other people. No one likes to be called on the carpet in front of an audience.

What is the one place you have never visited but would love to?

Scotland. We’d planned to visit Edinburgh while we lived in London, but couldn’t book a hotel room. We were attempting to go during the midst of the Edinburgh festival. No room at any inn!

If you were stranded on a desert island and could chose any famous person (living or dead), who would you chose to be stranded with you and why?

Josh Holloway (Sawyer on Lost). He was a very resourceful guy.

Quick Quiz

  1. Cake or Chips – I’m a savory gal, so chips.

  1. Steak or Veggie Burger – Veggie Burger for sure.

  1. Chocolates or Roses – Oh, definitely roses. I love how the colors have significance.

  1. Boxers or Briefs or Nothing at all – Can I go hybrid and say boxer-briefs?

  1. And since I write both, I have to know which you prefer… Vampires or Cowboys – Well, I’d choose a Vampire, unless it’s a vampire cowboy, in which case, that guy would win hands down.

Five Senses Series Book #3

Gemma Brocato

Blurb:

They walked through the shadows individually. Will they emerge into the light together?

Leading a vagabond life as a curator for a traveling photography exhibit translates to a lot of bad days for Rikki Salerno. But her trouble doubles when a careless high school student shoves her into a marsh. Being rescued by teacher Sam Kerrigan should have made things better, but Rikki’s inability to confess her true identity casts a shadow over their budding affair.

When Sam refuses an overly aggressive parent’s marriage proposal, she’s determined to ruin him. Not only does she doctor photos to make it look like Sam’s behaved inappropriately in front of students, she hacks the foundation website to reveal Rikki’s true identity. Faster than the blink of a shutter, Rikki’s focus changes from pursuing her full-color future to the black and white necessity of clearing Sam’s name.

Excerpt:

Rikki dragged her eyes from his profile and turned her attention out the front window. “Oh, Sam, it’s perfect.”

Obligingly, Sam stopped the truck to let her take pictures. She adjusted the brightness setting, snapped another couple of shots, then dropped the camera into her lap.

“I’d love to see this at dawn. Do you know how haunting this would be in a low-light setting?” She fidgeted in her seat, battling her muse’s demand to pick up her camera again. The images she’d captured so far were sufficient. She’d known the second she took the best photo from that vantage point. She’d bet her favorite camera it was the way a baseball player knew a ball would soar out of the park the second the bat connected. Adrenaline spread through her like spiders, creeping and crawling through her chest and along her arms.

Sam put the truck back in gear and eased forward into a parking spot. “I brought wood so we can make a campfire over here, under the trees. The best spot for us to set up our camera equipment will be there, along the riverbank.” He lifted his hand from the steering wheel and gestured toward a flat, sandy section of land. “There is nothing overhead to mar the focus. Unless you see a better location…”

“I’ll look around, but the riverbank makes the most sense. It’s flat, and as long as it’s solid, should be good.” She flashed back to the spit of land where they’d met, when the bank hadn’t been stable enough to keep her from tumbling into the water. “I’ll unload the equipment if you start the fire.”

“Deal.”

Putting his shoulder to the door, he paused, appeared to think better of it, then twisted toward her. Desire changed his eyes to steamy, mesmerizing cobalt. Leaning across the center of the truck, he lifted a hand to her cheek and urged her lips toward his. His mouth, soft and warm, possessed hers, shortening her breath. After a brief moment, he deepened the kiss, opening his mouth on hers, demanding more. Without hesitation, she responded, welcoming the intrusion of his tongue and plunged her fingers through his hair, pulling him closer.

Sliding his hand down her arm, he cradled her wrist, then pulled her hand to rest along his chest. His heart thumped violently, racing, echoing her speeding pulse. His lips curled into a smile. He laced his fingers through hers and pressed, flattening both against his body. The warmth of his hand, the rhythmic thud of his heart, and the sensuous insistence of his lips rocked her. It changed mere passion into something more enduring.

The loud blare of a horn interrupted the brief interlude. Sam jumped away from her, disentangling their fingers, pink staining his cheeks. Moving his hands to his lap, he attempted to hide the evidence of their steamy kiss from the group of students pulling into the spot next to his truck.

About the Author:Gemma Brocato

Gemma’s favorite desk accessories for many years were a circular wooden token, better known as a ’round tuit,’ and a slip of paper from a fortune cookie proclaiming her a lover of words; some day she’d write a book. All it took was a transfer to the United Kingdom, the lovely English springtime, and a huge dose of homesickness to write her first novel. Once it was completed and sent off with a kiss, even the rejections addressed to ‘Dear Author’ were gratifying.

After returning to America, she spent a number of years as a copywriter, dedicating her skills to making insurance and the agents who sell them sound sexy. Eventually, her full-time job as a writer interfered with her desire to be a writer full-time and she left the world of financial products behind to pursue an avocation as a romance author.

Book Spotlight–A TASTE OF CHARDONNAY by Heather Heyford

Taste of Chardonnay by Heather Heyford

A Taste of Chardonnay

 by

 Heather Heyford

Blurb:

When the richly bred, poorly raised daughter of a notorious Napa Valley winemaker competes with Hollywood’s hottest man in an unlikely race to see who can do the most good, who will win?

Excerpt:

The St. Pierre sisters tumbled into the Napa County jail, stopping short at the transparent barrier in front of the reception desk. Chardonnay vaguely recalled the floor plan from her last visit. From a holding cell in the rear, they could hear Papa bellowing in his unmistakable Franglais.

“I am American citizen! I have gun license! Wait until my daughter gets here. She is lawyer! I will sue your—”

Papa had always had a flair for the dramatic.

Following an interminable wait during which the incessant click of her older sister’s pacing echoed off the tile walls, they were let into a processing area and a young officer holding a clipboard came out to meet them.

“Which one of you is”—he raised the clipboard to eye level and squinted—“Sauvignon?” he said with the audible equivalent of an eye roll.

This guy must be new to the force. The St. Pierres weren’t accustomed to going many places in the valley without being recognized.

Savvy stepped forward. “I am.”

Thank heavens Savvy was an attorney. Well, almost. She’d recently graduated law school but had yet to take the bar.

“And these are my sisters, Chardonnay and Merlot.”

The cop stared.

Was it their fault Papa had named his daughters for grape varietals?

He started to smile, furrowed his brow, and then hitched up his pants with his free hand.

With a half chuckle, he said, “Cheese-oh-man. You can’t make this stuff up. Wait till I tell the folks back in Ohio.”

About the Author:Heather Heyford

Born in the Northeast, Heather Heyford learned to walk and talk in Texas, and then moved to England. (“Ya’ll want some scones?”) While in Europe, Heather was forced by her cruel parents to spend Saturdays in theleopard vinyl back seat of their Peugeot, motoring from one medieval pile to the next for the lame purpose of ‘learning something.’ What she soon learned was how to allay the boredom by stashing a Cosmo under the seat. Now a recovering teacher, Heather writes love stories, feeds hardboiled eggs to suburban foxes, and makes art in the Mid-Atlantic. She is represented by the Nancy Yost Literary Agency (NYLA, @nyliterary) in New York City. The first book in her Napa Wine Heiresses Series from Kensington Publishing, A Taste of Chardonnay, is now available!

Book Spotlight—A WORLD APART by Cd Brennan

A World Apart by Cd Brennan

A World Apart

Love Where You Roam #2

By

Cd Brennan

Blurb:

She left home to find herself…and found love along the way.

Lizzy travels to Scotland to track down her roots, hoping where she comes from will help her figure out where she needs to go. An Aussie girl through and through, tough as nuts and a bit wild, she believes there’s nothing so wonderful as a world seen through wine-tinted glasses…

…until she meets Hottie Hamish, Bridge of Allan’s most eligible bachelor.

Hamish is Lizzy’s polar opposite in every way. He’s serious, driven, and motivated, focused on becoming the youngest associate professor at the Glasgow School of Art. But he’s hiding a social phobia behind his gruff exterior that makes it almost impossible to connect with people…

…until he meets Lost Lizzy, all sunshine and lightness, an Australian beauty with the proverbial heart of gold.

Where they come from may be worlds apart, but atop a Scottish Munro, they begin to realize where they’re going is best traveled side by side.

A Lyrical Press New Adult Romance

Excerpt:

Hamish squeezed the steering wheel repeatedly as if it was a soother ball. At least he refrained from grinding his teeth. He turned to Lizzy. “And how do you find this funny?”

“I don’t find it funny, ha ha,” Lizzy stressed. “More funny as in fun.”

“This is fun to you?”

“Sure! Why not? It’s an adventure! Out here on the side of a beautiful mountain under the stars. So we sleep in the car. Sounds good to me. There can only be a few hours until light, anyhoo, right? Not to mention, my adventure is with a fine and handsome Scotsman.” She playfully punched Hamish in the arm, an exaggerated smile on her face. “That’s you, Hamish.”

Luckily the darkness hid the blush that rose from his neck. Even now, he found it hard to believe women found him attractive. Too many embarrassing and awkward moments with girls when he was younger made him think otherwise.

He cleared his throat. He could tell her now about his interview tomorrow, but it wouldn’t help the situation. “I’m worried about Rennie.”

Barely the words were out when Lizzy had hopped over the center console of the front seat and launched herself into the backseat. The jacket she wore caught on his travel coffee mug, spilling the contents onto Lizzy as she landed with a hmph.

“No worries,” she said, smearing the cold coffee into her jeans.

Lizzy peered over the seats, then reached over to stroke each dog’s head.

“Both are sound asleep. Charlie is even snoring–” Lizzy broke off suddenly, turning around to face front. She pulled her knees to her chest. Her teeth were chattering.

“Lizzy, get in with the dogs.”

“Wh-wh-what?” She looked at him as if he was a complete tosser.

Her body had begun to convulse to counterbalance her heat loss.

He drew in a deep breath through his nose and tried again. “Please, get in the back.”

“You wa-wa-want me to go sit with the dogs?”

“Aye.”

“You’re a real shit, ya know. I don’t deserve this. Sure, I know I was out with them all day, but it was ba-ba-better than waiting on your girlfriend.”

“Eh? What are you talking about?” Maybe she had already reached delirium. He needed to get her body temperature up as quickly as possible.

“That princess Marie at your house this morning, she said you said I would cook her breakfast. And there I was serving her food like a ser-ser-servant girl. It wasn’t gourmet cuisine or anything, but I still cooked it for her!”

“Marie?”

“You’re telling me you don’t even remember her name? And here you came across as such a refined gentleman on Sunday. I should have listened to the rumors. They are obviously all true.”

Hamish hadn’t the slightest idea what Lizzy was going on about. Unless she meant his colleague’s daughter who had spent the night. He had barely said two words to her before he excused himself to prepare for his interview. His brother Alasdair had taken her to the Crooked Arm for the pub quiz night.

“I was hired to clean your house and cook some tea for you, not to wait on your shags. You never said anything about cooking for the girls you brought home–”

“I’m going to fold down the seats.” Hamish interrupted her before she got herself worked up any further.

“What the bloody hell for?”

“Lizzy, please! You’re having a delayed hypothermic reaction.”

A confused look passed over Lizzy’s face. “From the cold coffee?”

Watershed by Cd Brennan

Meet Cd…

Having traveled and lived all over the world, Cd Brennan now talks with a strange accent, a mix of distant terminology, a blend of culturally cute but confusing Cd Brennaneuphemisms that leaves everyone looking at her with a blank stare. Luckily, her Australian husband (who she met in Ireland) and her two Aussie/Yankee sons have no problem understanding her – well, except for the word NO.

Now settled back “home” in Michigan, she enjoys reliving her glory days by writing about them. She considers the last fifteen years abroad the perfect research for her Love Where You Roam series; matchmaking women and men from different cultures, even different hemispheres, helping them find their true one across oceans of difference.

As destiny plays a hand in all the stories, Cd Brennan truly believes that what is for you, won’t pass you by. She hopes to inspire others to get out there: “Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” [Mark Twain]  And of course, fall in love.

Blogging with Cd Brennan

A bit of fun and usually lots of laughs. Sign up on the tab on her website!

Sundae With Nuts

Answer any or all of the ten questions below. I don’t mind if it is only one! I want it to be fun, not offensive to you in any way. The questions were designed for a single answer to allow the blog follower some speculation, but if you want to elaborate, please feel free!

1.       Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?

2.       Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both?

3.       What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky? (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda)

4.       What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity.

5.       Do you believe in love at first sight?

6.       If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be?

7.       Any special “toys” you’d like to give mention to for their outstanding achievements?

8.       I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?

9.       Most romantic or sexiest destination out there.

And last but now least.

10. Favorite ice cream flavor.

Alternate questions

1.       Who was your first crush or kiss?

2.       If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course.

3.       I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and a cowgirl when I grew up (still do). What did you want to grow up to be when you were a little girl?

S’more Sundae With Nuts

You are now a S’more. That means you have danced as a Nut, and now can continue your jig with the fun below.

Layering the truth like chocolate, marshmallow and grahams

All you have to do for this blog is list four fun facts about yourself. The fifth fact, you need to make up and the guests have to guess which one is untrue. Sure, we are writers – the possibilities are endless with this one!

When delivering back to Cd Brennan, ensure that you highlight or otherwise let me know which one isn’t true. Again, this blog is meant to be quick and easy, so you can use one liners if you like, but I imagine the more story behind each fact, the harder it will be for everyone to guess!

*If you want to giveaway something to the first commenter who gets it right, please let me know. If not, it’s not requires, and no worries. Let the fun begin!
