Cowboy Up, the contemporary western boxed set that I’m part of, is live!
Today I’m sharing from the first scene of my contribution–Chasing a Cowboy
Chase mumbled a curse that had the preacher gasping. Paige looked at Chase. The man she’d secretly loved since she was fourteen shook his head and met her gaze. The pain and betrayal in his green eyes said everything.
He crumbled the note in his fist and stalked out of the arbor with his brothers—the best man and three of the groomsmen—following him.
Jack, who was his manager, ran to catch up with him. “Chase?”
Chase didn’t answer or look back at his eldest brother. He headed for the front of the house where the vehicles were parked.
Her father cleared his throat. “I’m sorry folks, but it appears my daughter has had a change of heart. There won’t be a wedding today.”
She chewed on her lip as she watched Chase speed his pickup down the drive. She and Chase had something special when they were younger, before Kayla wooed him for herself. Maybe Paige could convince him they had a chance. Without thinking through her next actions, she tossed the half-dead roses away, hiked up the yards of tulle of her ridiculously full skirt, and ran after Chase. The day just got better. Now, if she could just get Chase to see it that way.
Hopefully the heart of Paige’s sister stays changed!!!
